Margaret P. “Bobbye” Buster, September 30, 2011

Lexington Herald Leader Obituary

I met Bobbye one spring about 15 years ago.  She was Margaret P. Buster and I was her tax preparer.   We would get together and go through all her information.  She was very thorough and organized, private and reserved, but also very passionate about what she believed in and felt.  Many of our conversations involved family, our values and faith in God.  It was a pleasant surprise that one Sunday I discovered we attended the same church.  But, just like Bobbye, she quietly sat in the back of the sanctuary, worshiped and returned home.  She never had the attitude that she “needed to be seen”.  She worked, raised a family, went to church and had great pride in where she came from.  That’s it.  When she left this world, it was quiet, and peaceful, her service was simple and unassuming, just as Bobbye would have wanted.

The last time I saw Bobbye, she was no longer interested in leaving her home and so I went to her house for our “annual get together”.  She made me a sandwich, asked about me and my family, expressed her joy in watching my daughter grow, bragged about her grandchildren, fussed at the government, told me she missed going to church and when I left she said, “I’ll see you next time if I’m here”.

I’ll miss Bobbye this spring.  I know, because I miss her now.  Rest in peace, my friend.

Eleanor Gullett Queen, September 28, 2011

Lexington Herald Leader Obituary

In Morehead in 1978, when I decided to go back to work, a friend right away directed me to Eleanor Queen, Manager of Cave Run Clinic.  During my 18 years there I got to know and appreciate Eleanor as a very capable lady in all areas required of a manager.  She could be tough with staff when necessary and a good, helpful friend when needed.  Her work pleased 10 full time surgeons, 1 family practice physician, 4 consultants from Lexington, and a large staff – no small task!  Eleanor retired a few years before I did and I remember when she announced to some of us that they were moving to Lexington and she would join Crestwood Christian Church.

I had not seen her for several years but we had talked by phone several times since we have been in town.  I will very fondly remember Eleanor as a friend, very dedicated to her work and to her family, raising three lovely daughters, Janie, Cindy, and Laura.  I know she was a loving, caring grandmother.  She will be very missed by those who knew her.

Helen Jennings Marcuccilli, August 11, 2011

Lexington Herald Leader Obituary

Helen Marcuccilli, a charter member at Crestwood Christian Church, went to her heavenly rest in August after being in a nursing home for over 8 years.

Although she will be missed by her family and all who knew her, the Lord knew that she could not endure any longer.

Helen kept her mind alert and always greeted those who came to see her with her beautiful smile and always wanted to know what was going on.

Now may she rest in peace for ever more.
